So you've got your first sewing machine, now what?
This workshop is for those who don't know how to use a sewing machine or would like to refresh their skills.
In this workshop I will go thorugh all the key areas and functions of the machine and explain the different types of stitches.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, I will walk you through what you need to know about your sewing machine; learn how to thread it, adjust the tension, use some common stitches and trouble shoot issues.
You will also be taught how to set up you machine - including, how to wind the bobbin, how to thread the machine, how to sew using the basic stitches to create a seam and also the the basic functions of your sewing machine. You will learn how to use some of the various stiches, as well as learning how to resolve tension issues. By the end of the workshop will have received knowledge and teaching that will help you to become more confident on using a sewing machine.
Venue: The workshop will consist of six students in the class at: Harborne Academy, Harborne Road, Birmingham B15 3JL. The room we have booked is French Class 2 at Harborne Academy. When you arrive at reception, ask the caretaker for the above classroom and they will direct you to us.
Time: Each class starts at 6.30pm prompt and finishes at 9.30pm.
